Usage, care and disposal instructions
These natural sponges have a loofah scouring pad and are tough on stains and stuck-on food, but gentle enough for non- stick cookware. The sponge is absorbent and good for cleaning up spills and wiping down surfaces. Great for washing up and also for kitchen and bathroom cleaning.
Best to dry out between uses to prevent mould and prolong life.
Freshen up occasionally and only if needed by washing in dishwasher or washing machine (30 or 40 degrees C).
Well looked after sponges should last for over a month.
Once well used, cut up the sponge (this speeds up composting) and place in home compost bin, wormery or bokashi bin.
If you don’t compost, don't worry, you can put these in your usual household waste.

Cellulose is wood pulp fibre.
Loofah plants are a bit like courgettes and cucumbers. The fruit is very fibrous when ripe. It’s then harvested and the fibres are used to make cloth or sections are cut to create loofah sponges that people use in the shower.
These are renewable material sources.
They are sewn together, so no toxic glue is added.
This means that they can be home composted, unlike many products labeled 'biodegradable'.
Replacing plastic kitchen scourers with these means not adding microplastics into your home and into our waterways. It means less plastic is being produced from extracted oil and is a step away from fossil fuel reliance towards more a more sustainable way of living.
